For simplicities sake, we’re going to use the same Zoom link for every call, which will be:
I will pop by several days before each session with a reminder and welcome to the upcoming session, and will include the Zoom link in that email also.
THE FIRST SESSION
For our first session, the initial focus will be on setting up a safe space, getting to know each other, tuning into and sharing what we’d hope to get from the journey, and agreeing on our roles and ways of working (contracting etc).
In that respect, we will have less time for a round of supervision than we will do in the subsequent weeks (but still perhaps the perfect amount of time?!).
Having set up the space as per the above, I envisage we’ll start group-supervision in a format some of you may be familiar with. Each person will be invited to bring a topic/challenge/question to the group that they would appreciate help exploring - letting us know what form they’d like that help to take (incisive questions/ personal experience/ input and ideas/ intuitive sharings /just being witnessed…) and as a group we'll contribute and be in service of that exploration and its takeaways.
There'll be a break included along the way, and we’ll have some time to check out at the end of the session.
All of the above I will expand on and facilitate us through as we go. I just wanted to give you a sense of what’s coming so you can relax (as much as you feel able to) into the journey ahead : )
WHAT CAN I BRING TO SUPERVISION?
Ultimately this is a space to nourish and support you as a practitioner in the world, so anything related to your work and mission as a practitioner - whatever the manifestation of that - is welcome!
I've added a few words on below to give you some ideas of what you might bring. (We'll briefly revisit these in the first session and make sure we're all clear.)
PRACTITIONER AS PERSON:
Process and release emotions built up through practice - express and decompress
Work through anything that’s blocking your practitioner flow
Nourish your sense of practitioner fulfillment and happiness. (E.g feeling on-mission, and loving & being fed-by your work).
PRACTITIONER AS PRACTITIONER:
Develop (and celebrate!) your unique practitioner style
Expand your toolkit and theoretical knowledge
Get support with challenging clients and find new ways forward
PRACTITIONER AS INDUSTRY PROFESSIONAL:
Maintain professional standards
Tackle ethical 'dilemmas' and develop your ethical maturity
Develop your approach to contracting
PRACTITIONER AS BUSINESS OWNER:
Increasingly models of supervision are expanding to honour the fact that many practitioners are self-employed business owners. Whilst I'm not a business mentor, this can be a space to get feedback, inspiration, and ideas on things like:
Developing and pricing your offerings
Your big practitioner vision in the world
Next steps: Actions & accountability
PRACTITIONER AS MAGICAL BEING:
As advertised, this is a safe space to be 'woo as fuck!', and to relax and lean into the breadth and depth of your Witchy/Magician/Priestess/Goddess/Shamanic/Tantric awesomeness (or whatever is true for you). Whilst you don't have to bring anything of this nature, you're welcome to. Explorations could include:
Sharing and getting to know your magic
How you might develop and nourish it
How to integrate it into your practitioner style/offerings
HOW CAN I BRING IT?
In terms of how you bring whatever you bring to the supervision circle, I invite you to bring it in whatever way feels right to you.
When we bring something perhaps a little more intangible or under the surface, we might not always have the perfect crisp words to encapsulate or point to it. So I invite you to use words - if so you choose - but also there might be times when a picture, object, song, metaphor, or a vague description of a feeling is what is offered into the space for us to then begin to collectively explore.
That’s all welcome (and anything else I haven't thought of as a medium of communication/exploration).
MIXING IT UP & STAYING RESPONSIVE
My intention is to not box us into a static process. For diversity of experience and catalytic learning, I will mix up the way we work every now and then to keep our energy alive and curious.
It's also my intention to honour the needs of your unique group, and stay responsive to ways of being and working that serve your progress. In that regard, I will be checking in with you throughout our journey for input and feedback.
INSPIRATION, REFLECTION & LEARNING
The great opportunity here is that even when you’re not in the hot seat as it were (we need a better name for that lol - the magic seat!), you’re having the chance to live into being the practitioner you want to be as you contribute to the exploration at hand, AND you can also learn from the conversation.
To help that process, I will give us some short reflective (journalling) breaks where you can consider what in the exploration just completed, has inspired or impacted you. What are the learnings for you and your practice?
In that way, every moment in the space is a potential learning and growth moment, it's not about just waiting your turn till you get to bring your thing.
ALL LEVELS OF 'WOO' ARE WELCOME...
The warm-hearted invitation from me is that in this space there is no 'right' level of woo, other than the level of woo that is right for you! (and your work/client).
You might have no idea what your magic/mojo is, just the sense that there might be something in there....
Or maybe you're starting to explore your intuition a little more, or some other sense in a gentle early-days way...
Or maybe you're seeing auras and talking to stars and unicorns...
This is a supportive judgment-free zone where all levels of woo are welcome! And where diversity in that (and all departments) is invited as something that enriches the group and potentially sparks inspiration for others. Hooray!
(Not forgetting this space isn't all about the woo, it just has the room for that if expression or exploration goes that way. At its heart it's a space to be all of you, woo to whatever degree is true for you, but also everything else that you are!).
THIS IS A SPACE FOR...
